What an exciting few weeks! Our daughter had her cast removed last week – children are amazing, you would never think she had had anything done to her arm at all!  It is great to be getting life back to normal.
However, we have had lots of excitement today as we have found out that are the NSF Agriculture ‘Beef Farm of the Year’!  We are in shock that out of all the big and posh Beef Farms we were the winners with our mental little hill farm.  We are very proud.  We are now going to the House of Commons in December where the overall ‘Assured Farmer of the Year’ will be selected.  Would wellies be appropriate foot wear for that, I wonder?
Just to bring me back to earth, I had to scrabble over a fence and through rather a lot of mud to rescue an escapee hen that couldn’t remember her way home tonight!  A soggy end to a very soggy day in market.
We are welcoming lots of baby calves this week – we have had one a day for 10 days.  Our bull was clearly very tired this time 9 months ago!
Onwards to fireworks, we are having some this weekend and a party, what could be better!
